The same fire that melts the wax hardens the clay.
For the same situation given, there are 2 ways to go about it. Either let it melt you and kill you, or let it harden you to become stronger than yesterday. Different people take in the situations differently, but given any choice, make the right decision that your future self will thank you for.
I have had so many of this metaphorical fire lately and I am glad I had taken them well so far. However, in the recent weeks, I’m feeling so tired lately. I have to admit that it’s easier to allow the fire to melt and kill you. It takes courage, determination and perseverance to be that harden clay and be better than before. But I can promise you that it will all be worth it.
One Step At A Time
I cannot emphasis how important this is. Do one thing at a time. DO NOT multitask. One job at a time. One paper at a time. One article at a time. One project at a time. One subject at a time. You be good at it and then move on! Multitasking only distracts your focus. Time management skills is a very critical issue to becoming better than yesterday. Take a baby step at a time. You are better than yesterday for you have moved many baby steps as compared to 1 unstable giant leap.
One way to make sure you are on the right track is to prioritise your tasks. You have to ensure what your KEY focus is. Realise it’s KEY and not keyS. You only have 1 focus a day. That’s your priority. Yes, there can be other top priorities, but you only have ONE top major priority. Focus on that, be very good at that, you’re already better than yesterday.
Giving thanks and being thankful is one way I use to appreciate the beauty I have all around me. I realised that in this time and age, we tend to be so self-indulgent that we forget the beauty around us. We only realise it when they’re gone. So I take time each week to think about how grateful I am for all the things around me. I become more appreciative of people, life and things; making me happier everyday. I realise that I am, therefore, better than yesterday because I am more in love with my life today.
Believe in yourself, have faith in what you are doing and love yourself, along with all the things around you!
