Time alone doesn’t fix anything. It’s what you do with that time that heals you. But time is the way.
Time is my favourite variable in life. Perhaps why my love language is quality time. It is the only definite thing in life and the variable that is equal to everyone. And because time is the only definite thing, it gives hope that what I do today impacts the future.
Time is the solution
You know what happens when the shittiest thing in life happens? Life goes on, time moves on.
We, humans, are terrible at being time consistent. Perhaps that is why we make lots of short term mistakes. But in the long run, things are generally better. Looking back, one realises that things weren’t that bad. Everything becomes alright in the end.
And in that sense, I’d say time is healing. However, time alone does not heal. It is what one does with time that heals. I admit, some days are shit and I wish time could last faster to end it. Other days, I wish every passing second could be prolonged, to enjoy them even more.
In the end, time heals when one uses it right. Because time will pass no matter what. It doesn’t stop nor slow down for anyone. And if you know time will pass anyway, you might as well make the best out of the passing time.
It sucks so much in the short term. But I promise everything is going to be better in the end.
Words I tell myself when I need some healing.
Some days, I go back in time, just to re-live some moments twice.
