When we got together, we both knew that there is no possibility that we will ever be together. Forever. Distance is too far, families have different cultures and it seemed like a crazy stupid love. Nonetheless, we went ahead.
Knowing that, it was quite difficult sometimes. As much as we love each other, love is not enough. Love is irrational. You hear people saying that love is the strongest force in the world. Yes, I agree. It pushes you to do crazy things. But it is not enough. It is not enough in this rational world today. A society shaped by logic and rationality. Irrationality can never fit in.
I realised often that love is never enough. Looking at all my friends, I understood it clearly. There are too many obstacles, differences and sacrifices needed to be made. Love is not enough when it comes to the differences in the culture of growing up. Love is not enough when ideologies change. Love is especially not enough when they’re not always by your side. I’m talking about time-difference, 10,000 miles apart type of “not always by your side”.
I’d just like to state that love is not enough. Level of compliment/chemistry, maturity and trust also plays quite a role in the modern day romance. “The fact is, love is not enough. … Love is never enough because love is not rational. … Some people will love each other until the day they die, spending the majority of their lives apart.”
I promised and I keep my promise. I will love you till the end of time, and I wish the best for you. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your loved ones is to let them go.
Perhaps somewhere out there, love is enough and we are together.
