It makes you realise that love is really simple. Just someone to love and be loved in return, love is not complicated. Someone to hold you when you’re down, someone who’s there to share your happiness, someone you can spend hours talking to. Love is not just about sex and passionate love declaration on social media. It’s the quiet bug that creeps up to you on a Sunday morning when you’re lazing in bed.
Love is the reason you hold on, you fight on and you smile when you’re tired. There are so many different definitions of love and I’m in love with them all. But most importantly, love is what makes you carry on in spite of everything. Love need not be realistic not perfect. Love is just love.
I envy short passionate love, yet also those long and insane ones. I love watching old couples going crazy over each other despite being together for so long. My heart melts a little when I hear a grandpa say “I still fall in love with her every single day” to his wife. I smile when I see a guy looking dreamily at the girl while she is doing something else. My stomach churn in jealousy when a see an old couple holding hands and walking down the streets like they just met on a first date. I don’t believe that love expires and you can have crazy passionate love despite being together for so long.
Love is also what completes you, although you are complete yourself. Nothing makes me sadder than knowing the other half of the couple is gone. Who will he/she wake up to in the future? Who will be walking by their side during the early morning walks? Who will be the one “arguing” with the other half about silly little things? Losing a loved one is heart breaking because you lose part of you. I admire those that carries on despite slowing the other half.
Love is really simple and needs no explanation. Love doesn’t need to be complicated nor challenging. It should just be pure love between 2 with insane and crazy happy little moments. If it is no longer about those little crazy moments about getting lost in each other’s eyes, perhaps that’s no longer pure love. But that’s me, I define love as insane, passionate and extraordinary. Mediocre is the furthest thing from true love I can think of and I never want mediocre.
I hope you find true crazy, passionate and extraordinary love.
