I'm grateful to have found company that is companionable as solitude.
Time is a resource defined by man. Do birds need to know the time to wake up and fly to find food? Do bees allocate a specific 9-5 to work? Do trees grow more during 12-2pm? Because of time, humans are limited in many ways
Time is the only finite resource that we own. I value my time highly and would only give it to those whose company give me more utility than spending time alone. I am very very very selective in how I allocate and give my time away. Being an extrovert, I get a lot of energy from being around people. Thankfully, I've learnt to be crazily in love with solitude and get energy from being alone. Now, the opportunity cost to spend time with someone is so high, because I truly and deeply value solitude.
My boy, Nietzsche. He sums it up right. I hate people who steals my solitude without offering true company in return.
My solitude doesn’t depend on the presence or absence of people; on the contrary, I hate who steals my solitude without, in exchange, offering me true company. - Fredrich Nietzsche
Since my love language is time, it becomes an important thing for me. You can tell how much someone loves you by where they prioritize you. If you're important enough to some people, it's just different. And for that, I am thankful.
I'm beyond grateful for having found companies that are as companionable as solitude. My heart is full.
Love,
L
